Recently, the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Alumni Development Seminar was grandly held at the Beijing Richforce Wanda Realm Hotel. Centered on the theme of "Driving Industrial Innovation through Technological Innovation," the seminar brought together the wisdom and strength of HIT alumni from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to discuss how technological innovation can facilitate industrial upgrading and enterprise development. Mr. Zhihong Cai, General Manager of Beijing Intcube Technology Co., Ltd., participated in the seminar and delivered a keynote speech.

In its new century, HIT has consistently focused on talent cultivation and scientific research, nurturing countless professionals needed by society in the new era. Today, its alumni are spread across various industries, striving and making significant breakthroughs and contributions in diverse fields of social development. This seminar served not only as a platform for exchange and learning but also as an opportunity to build consensus and jointly plan for development.

During the event, University Party Secretary Xiong Sihao and President Han Jiecai engaged in discussions with over 300 alumni representatives from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, using technological innovation as the engine to explore the conference theme. Secretary Xiong Sihao emphasized that as the university embarks on a new journey, it will continue to support the development of all alumni as a steadfast backbone. He also expressed hope that alumni would fully leverage their wisdom and strengths, actively integrate resources in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and contribute their insights and efforts to the high-quality development of their alma mater, working together to open new horizons for high-quality growth. Some alumni from the region also shared their perspectives on cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and space infrastructure.

The seminar featured three parallel forums where alumni representatives delved intcutting-edge topics related to "Driving Industrial Innovation through Technological Innovation." Mr. Zhihong Cai, General Manager of Intcube, delivered a keynote speech titled "EPM Data Foundation Empowers Enterprise Intelligent Management" at one of the parallel forums, engaging in in-depth discussions with fellow alumni on issues related to digital and intelligent transformation and upgrading that enterprises currently face.

In his speech, Mr. Cai used the principle of automatic control, familiar to alumni, as an example to compare the advantages and disadvantages of modern control theory (based on models) and traditional PID control theory. He illustrated the importance of establishing multidimensional data models based on actual business operations for management. He also explained the fundamental differences between dynamic enterprise management software like EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) and static generalized ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.

Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems are effective tools assisting domestic enterprises in achieving integration of business and finance and enabling financial digital and intelligent transformation. Using a multidimensional database platform as the computational engine, EPM systems facilitate closed-loop management of comprehensive budgeting through a unified budgeting platform. This includes strategic goal setting, budget modeling, budget formulation, financial consolidation, execution control, forecasting analysis, and performance appraisal. By constructing a corporate data governance system and establishing an efficient multi-departmental collaborative management framework, EPM enables deep integration of budget management with production and operations, thereby driving high-quality enterprise development.
